中国地质大学出版社创建于 1985 年，拥有近 2000 平方米的独立办公楼和书库。2012 年以来按照“以地球科学专业出版为核心，强化珠宝文化建设品牌，大力发展职业教育板块，整合资源，数字出版，打造一个具有鲜明地学特色的产学研交流平台”的战略要求，走“专、精、特、新”的发展道路，全力推进地学专著、地学教材、地学科普、珠宝文化、职业教育和非图书类文化产品六大业务板块发展，着力打造更多传承文明、传播知识、推动社会发展和科技进步的优秀图书，逐步成为在地学界享有盛誉的专业出版社。

　　历年出版图书 5000 多种，内容涵盖基础地质、资源勘查工程、工程地质勘察、环境地质工程、区域地质调查、地质灾害防治、珠宝首饰等学科专业一系列学术专著、大学本科教材及科普文化读物。有几十个项目获得省部级以上出版基金资助，在地质高等教育和地勘行业具有较高的知名度和美誉度，服务学校教学科研、服务湖北区域经济文化发展、服务地矿行业能力水平极大提升，为促进国际地学学术交流、支撑地方经济社会发展和文化建设做出了应有的贡献。

　　Founded in 1985, China University of Geosciences Press has an independent office building and library spanning nearly 2000 square meters. Since 2012, following the strategic requirements of "focusing on geoscience professional publishing as the core, strengthening the brand of jewelry culture construction, vigorously developing vocational education sector, integrating resources, digital publishing, and creating an industry-university-research exchange platform with distinctive geoscience characteristics," we have been committed to the development path of "professionalism, precision, specialty, and innovation." We spare no effort to promote the development of six business sectors, namely geoscience monographs, geoscience textbooks, geoscience popularization, jewelry culture, vocational education, and nonbook cultural products. Our aim is to create excellent books that inherit civilization, spread knowledge, promote social development and scientific and technological progress, and gradually establish ourselves as a prestigious professional publishing house within the local academic community.

　　For years, the CUG Press has published more than 5000 books: series of academic monograph, textbooks for under graduates and popular science readings, involving fundamental geology, resources prospecting and engineering, environmental geology engineering, areal geology survey, preventive treatment of geological disasters, jewellery and so forth. Among them, dozens of projects are supported by publishing funds at or above the provincial and ministerial levels. We acquire a high popularity and reputation in geological higher education and geological prospecting industry. Furthermore, we have made due contributions to serving our university’s teaching and scientific research, serving Hubei’s regional economic and cultural development, greatly improving the ability to serve the geological and mining industry, promoting international academic exchanges on geoscience, supporting local economic and social development as well as cultural construction.
