黄石市文化和旅游局组建于2019年4月，主要职能是统筹文化、文物、旅游、广播电视、体育事业发展，积极推进各相关门类产业转型发展，提高我市文化软实力和文化影响力。加强文化、文物、旅游、广播电视、体育等方面的安全事项监管，负责推动文化、文物、旅游、广播电视、体育与新科技、新媒体、新技术、新业态的创新融合发展。努力推进文化、文物、旅游、广播电视、体育等行业的信息化、标准化建设。指导协调文化黄石(文化、文物、旅游、广播电视、体育)整体形象打造和宣传推广，促进文化、文物、旅游、广播电视、体育等事业和产业对外合作和推广。
