党的十八大以来，以习近平同志为核心的党中央站在中华民族伟大复兴和人类减贫事业的历史高度，精心谋划中国精准脱贫工作，对推进全面建成小康社会、实现第一个百年奋斗目标作出战略指引并躬身践行。2020年是脱贫攻坚决胜之年，进入历史关键阶段，脱贫攻坚成为习近平总书记”心里最牵挂的一件大事”。
书法、篆刻艺术是中华文化瑰宝，数千年的承传成为纪功铸史、铭志抒怀的独特载体，其历史悠久，累积了博大精深的人文内涵。为记录中国人民千年宏愿梦圆的这一人间奇迹，展现脱贫攻坚成果，凝聚脱贫攻坚决战决胜的磅礴力量，运用传统的书法、篆刻艺术形式，表现重大时代课题。体现”接地气、讲格调、出精品”的工作思路，紧扣”为伟大时代留印痕、为文艺高峰铸精品、为精准扶贫尽智力”的工作目标。本次展览汇集了荆楚老、中、青三代艺术家的专题创作。同时，还特别邀请中国书协、西泠印社等十位名家同书同刻，倾心奉献精品力作。
本次主题创作，围绕当前国家扶贫政策、扶贫成果、感人事迹，经文本提炼总结、集中培训研讨、专家辅导授课、审核把关和编辑出版等多个环节，以期用优秀作品留给未来关于中国脱贫史弥足珍贵的书法篆刻档案。
Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the Party Central Committee lead by Xi Jinping carefully made plans for targeted poverty alleviation in China for the achievement of the historical mission of rejuvenating China and poverty reduction of mankind, provided strategic guidance for building a moderately well-off society in an all-round way and achieving the first centennial goal, and carried out practical initiatives to achieve the stated mission. The year of 2020 is the historically critical year when the victory of the poverty alleviation struggle will be determined. Poverty alleviation has become “the matter of prime concern” of the General Secretary Xi Jinping.
Calligraphy and the art of seal cutting are China’s cultural treasures inherited over thousands of years. With a long historical standing, they have become unique carriers for the expression of emotions, the memory of historical achievements and events, and the manifestation of extensive and profound cultural heritages. In order to record the miraculous achievement of Chinese people’s noble ambition over thousands of years, show the outcomes of poverty alleviation, and gather tremendous strength to win the victory of the poverty alleviation struggle, the traditional calligraphy and the art of seal cutting are used to enshrine the epoch-making event. It embodies the concepts of “making down-to-earth efforts, demonstrating literary and artistic style, and generating high-quality works”, and aims to achieve the objectives of “leaving imprints of the great age, creating high-quality literary and artistic works, and contributing intelligence to targeted poverty alleviation”. The exhibition gathers thematically-linked creations of the old, middle-aged and young artists in Hubei Province, and masterpieces in calligraphy and seal cutting which are created by ten specially invited famous artists from Chinese Calligraphers Association and Xiling Seal Engraver’s Society, etc.
The thematically-linked creations in the exhibition focus on China’s current poverty alleviation policies, poverty alleviation achievements and touching stories. Refinement and summarization of texts, concentrated training and seminars, expert guidance and lectures, examinations and reviews, as well as editing and publishing are carried out to generate excellent calligraphy and seal cutting works which are supposed to serve as precious archival data about China’s poverty alleviation initiative.
