　　话剧《台北新娘》以现实中30多万名在台湾奋斗打拼融入当地社会、做两岸和平发展使者的”大陆新娘”为原型，讲述了美丽、善良的湖北土家族姑娘田露与台湾青年林文杰倾心相恋，为了追求爱情和梦想，不顾家人的反对、飞跃海峡远嫁台北，不料在筹办婚礼之时，因历史的隔阂和现实的纠结，被婆婆误解赶出家门，在有着相同命运的大陆新娘及亲友的帮助下，凭着自己的真诚和顽强打拼，最终融入台湾社会和家庭、与心爱的人走到一起的故事。以亲情、爱情、友情、乡情为纽带，把两岸同根、同族、同源的血脉亲情紧紧地缠绕在一起，推动两岸民众的心灵契合，艺术地再现了台海两岸”打断骨头连着筋”和”一家牵两岸，两岸一家亲”、”家和万事兴”的历史文化共识。

　　该剧于2015年9月21日湖北·武汉台湾周首演，参加第二届湖北艺术节演出，于11月进京在全国政协礼堂汇报演出，现已累计演出近100场。所到之处，均得到当地市民、台胞、领导和媒体的高度重视和持续关注，反响强烈、好评如潮。

　　The modern drama Taipei Bride is based on the stories of more than 300,000 “Chinese mainland brides” who worked hard in Taiwan and tried to integrate into the local communities. They have been recognized as the ambassadors for the peace and development between both sides of the Taiwan Straits. It tells the love story between the beautiful and kind-hearted girl Tian Lu of Tujia ethnic group of Hubei Province and Lin Wenjie who was born in Taiwan. In pursuit of love and dreams, Tian Lu crossed Taiwan Straits and married Lin Wenjie in Taipei in spite of opposition from her family members. Unfortunately, she was kicked out of the house by her mother-in-law in the process of planning the wedding due to misunderstandings caused by historical and realistic reasons. With the help of her relatives and Chinese mainland brides sharing the same fate, Tian Lu successfully integrated into local communities and was accepted by her husband’s family in Taiwan. She ultimately lived happily with her lover after showing sincerity and making indomitable efforts. It combined family affection, love, friendship and nostalgia and enhanced the close bond and tight link among Chinese citizens who share the same root, the same race and the same origin on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, promoting the emotional communication between citizens in Chinese mainland and those in Taiwan. It reproduced the historical and cultural contexts shared by citizens in Chinese mainland and those living in Taiwan. As the saying goes, harmony brings prosperity. There are many households of which the family members live separately in Chinese mainland and Taiwan, making people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits as close as one family. Thus, they may be forced to part, but their emotional connection remains.

　　It was first performed at the Hubei (Wuhan)-Taiwan Week on September 21, 2015, and subsequently staged at the second Hubei Arts Festival and the CPPCC auditorium in Beijing in November. Up to the present, about 100 sessions of this play have been performed, receiving great and continued attention, strong responses and favorable comments from local citizens, Taiwan compatriots, leaders and the media.
