纪录片《重回长江的麋鹿》通过跟踪拍摄一只从小被人类养大的麋鹿孤儿，它是人类宠爱的“麋鹿公主”，到了“谈婚论嫁”的年龄，必须回归野生种群，但是它对人类无比依恋，而对麋鹿同类却一无所知，在回归路上一波三折、反复纠结，直到唤醒它血脉里的野性，最终回到野生大家庭的过程，讲述了古老而神秘的麋鹿物种，从流浪海外到回归祖国、重回长江流域的原生地，历经30年的保护与繁衍，从灭绝的边缘一路走来，终于成为全球最大野生麋鹿种群的故事。
重回长江的麋鹿故事告诉我们：只有国家强盛，麋鹿才能回归原生地、回归野性、回归自然，保护物种才能得到发展壮大，人与自然才能和谐相处。
本片历时两年筹备，三年跟踪拍摄，采用4K超高清技术，创新运用远距离遥控、四季延时、贴近航拍等多种先进拍摄手段，先后深入湖北、湖南、北京、江苏等多处麋鹿生活的地区采访拍摄，是国内首部全方位深入呈现野生麋鹿隐秘生活的4K电视纪录片。
The documentary provides a tracking shot of a milu deer, well-raised by humans since her birth, returning to the wild after she becomes ready to breed. Being deeply affectionate towards humans and long isolated from wild milu deer, she is faced with immense difficulties in accomplishing the journey of return. Fortunately, she successfully returned to a herd of milu deer in response to the call of the wild. It tells about how milu deer return to their original habitat in the Yangtze River basin from abroad and how China sees the largest population of milu deer in the world after 30-year efforts to promote the protection and reproduction of this ancient mysterious species once on the edge of extinction.
A powerful nation is prerequisite for the conservation of species and the achievement of harmony between humans and nature. In fact, it's not until China gains a strong global presence that the return of milu deer to their original habitat in the wild was achieved.
The production crew spent 2 years making preparations and 3 years tracking the milu deer with camera in Hubei, Hunan, Beijing, Jiangsu and other places where they ever wandered. The 4K televised documentary, which features an innovative combination of 4K UHD technology with advanced filming techniques like remote monitoring, time-lapse photography of changing seasons and close-up aerial photography, is the first of its kind in China to thoroughly reveal the mysterious life of wild milu deer.
