Hubei Film Studio was founded in 1958. Over the long course of 60 years, it has made a total of nearly 50 feature films, more than 200 documentary films, over 60 popular science films, 59 TV dramas (483 episodes), and 53 news bulletins, as well as a large number of TV documentaries. Of these films and TV programs, more than 40 won 60 awards at home and abroad. The feature film “The Ferry”made by Hubei Film Studio won multiple international film festival awards, such as Montreal Film Festival Award. The feature film "Take me afar" was awarded 17th CHINESE AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL Golded Angel Award Ceremony‘Best Charity Film’in 2011.
